Drillband is a beat-synced crossfade audio player built for marching band and drumline rehearsal. It analyzes each track's tempo and beat positions, then times transitions — automatic or a manual skip — to land on the beat instead of a jarring cut mid-count.
How does the beat-synced crossfade actually work?
Every imported track is analyzed once for tempo and the timestamp of every beat. When it's time to switch tracks, Drillband waits for the next beat on the outgoing track, then starts the incoming track at whichever of its own beats has the most rhythmically similar pattern — not just 0:00 — with a small bounded tempo nudge (up to ±6%) if both tracks were analyzed reliably.

What if my track's beat can't be detected reliably?
Some recordings — especially quiet or non-percussive ones — don't have clear enough transients for reliable beat detection. When that happens, Drillband falls back to a plain equal-power crossfade with no beat snapping, rather than guessing wrong.

Do I need an account to use Drillband?
